The Pales as a resource of the Area Meeting

Posted by Admin (Margo) on February 27, 2017 at 10:05 PM Comments comments (0)

From 2016 the Pales is seen as a resource of the Area Meeting.

Trustees, the Pales Development Group and Area Meeting are anxious to make it clear that the Pales is open to all constituent Meetings to use for retreats, away days, Meeting for Worship, study days, etc.

Following Trustees concerns and Minutes T17/05 from now on all current information about Pales will be available on AM website so from now on the Pales website www.thepales.webs.com privately sponsored and developed by Margo Swiderska with input from Pales wardens Lynda and Martin Williams will remain only a historical resource.

Following 17/16 Minute (28th February 2017) from now on the meeting is recorded as Llandrindod Local Quaker Meeting (not Llandrindod & Pales Quaker Meeting).

Our practice of holding one Meeting for Worship a month at the Pales is not affected by any change of name or by any of the above. We meet at Pales every 3rd Sunday at 3 pm.

Happy New Year Friends!

The next Meeting for Worship will be at the home of Peter & Maggie Hussey, Ty Olaf, 11 Elan Village, Rhayader,T 10:30am Sunday next, 9th January, 2011, provided that the weather permits.

MfW will be followed by a lunch of soup and bread, and then by a Discussion Group session.

Directions:

From the clock in Rhayader via West Street over the Wye Bridge and through Cwmdauddwr, continue along this road, passing the Elan Valley Hotel.  200 yards after the hotel there is a cattle grid, then some white houses below the road on the left, and a brick house on the right.  Take the next left turn, sigposted "Visitor Centre and Elan Village", go down the hill towards the Viitor Centre but take the left over a Bailey Bridge, there is a little sign on the bridge which says "Elan Valley Lodge".  Continue through the village.  Ours is the last house (ty olaf) it has a "Caution Children" sign outside, continue around the right hand bend, and then turn right into our drive.  Please keep the gate closed when not in use.  The Meeting will be in the cottage, straight ahead.

Hello and New Year blessings to you all

Given the uncertain situation at the Meeting House it would be good if we can arrange venues for the next 3 Sunday Meetings.

  • Maureen has kindly offered her home for our Meeting for Worship for Sunday 2nd January .

  • 9th - Peter Hussey has offered that it could be at his home

  • 16th January will be at the Pales

Please let us know if you hope to come and need a lift.
