Becoming Friends: Living & learning with Quakers

Posted by Admin (Margo) on January 26, 2012 at 6:00 PM

Becoming Friends is a course for those who are new to Quakerism, which combines opportunities to find out about the Quaker way and reflect on your own spiritual journey with optional support from experienced Quaker 'companions'.

We held the introductory session of this course Friday the 15th of April and have decided to meet every two or three weeks throughout the summer until the end of August (with a mid-term review). We're all aware that not everyone can make every session but the course is flexible enough to accommodate other commitments.

If you would like any further information about this course there is a free demonstration online at or contact Linda Green if you need to know more about our local arrangements.

We have now completed our current course of Becoming Friends, covering the topics of Faithful Diversity, The Sacred in the Everyday and Speaking of God. It has been a rewarding experience for everyone and we hope to build on this with a Being Friends initiative in the near future. We may also return to Becoming Friends and look at further topics.

The next session of Becoming Friends will be held on Friday 3rd June at 2.0 pm. Please note change of time. We shall be looking at our next topic The Sacred in the Everyday.

As usual there will be meeting for worship at 2.0 pm and the course will start at 2.30. Everyone is welcome to either the meeting or the course, or both.

If you think you may come along to the course it would be helpful if Linda Green knew so that she have enough materials for those present.
